The parties to the intended marriage must have
completed the age of
18. The marriage may be authorised to people having completed
the age of 16 if they present a written consent of their parents
or guardians. |

After the civil marriage, a religious marriage may also be
celebrated. But a civil marriage cannot be celebrated after
the religious marriage. |

Divorces become definitive after 42 days from their pronunciation
and if no appeal has been lodged. They must then appear at the
Family Court in order to certify that no appeal is pending. |

The marriage notices are hung on a board in the Town Hall
for 15 days. Within this period, any objections may be raised.
If an objection is raised, the Marriage Officer examines it.
After 15 days, no objection whatsoever is receivable. |

The Marriage Officer is the Mayor or a member of the Municipal
Council empowered in writing by the Mayor. |
